What is indoor karting?
Indoor go-karting is the best way to drive go karts in Metro Detroit. Michigan Go Karts are better served indoors to avoid the weather. Originating in Europe, indoor karting has been increasing in popularity in the States. Since weather is never an issue, individuals or groups can race all year round. With karts capable of 40 mph and a live timing and scoring system, indoor karting offers real racing excitement at an affordable cost.
How old/tall do you have to be?
Our Pro Go Karts are adult style/size karts. We ask that all Pro Kart drivers be 16 years of age with a valid driver's license. Junior Karts are primarily for kids but some adults enjoy a slower pace too. Junior Kart drivers must be 56" tall to operate, passengers must be at least 4 years old with an adult driver. Junior Karts run Sunday all day and Monday-Friday until 6pm.
How fast are Kart 2 Kart's go-karts?
Our Sodi Pro Karts are modeled after racing karts, the same style that professional drivers started out in. Powered by a Honda 6.5hp engine, drivers can achieve speeds upwards of 40 mph on our 1/5 mile, 6 turn road course.
What should I wear?
Kart 2 Kart supplies all the racing gear (helmets and neck collars) that we require and additionally offer jackets to all our cutomers. Dress comfortably and for racing, high heels and a blazer will help you look good but won't make you any faster. NO SANDALS. NO OPEN TOE SHOES WHILE DRIVING. During winter months we suggest a sweater, sweatshirt, or jacket.
Can I bring a group?
Of course! We recommend small groups to call ahead for availability. Groups over 8 can reserve time for one of our racing options. Groups of 20 or greater may want to look into a private track rental. Make sure to check out our Company Parties page to see how you can go racing with your co-workers. How can I reserve track time for my group?
When reserving private track time for a group (including company parties) we require a 50% deposit of the track rental cost. Smaller groups will require a deposit to secure a race start time. We ask that you arrive 30 minutes prior to your reserved time. Give us a call and we can check the schedule for availability.
What do I need to bring?
Cash or major credit cards are accepted. Sorry, no personal checks. For clothing we recommend comfortable shoes, and comfortable clothes, as mentioned before. We provide all the necessary safety gear however if you have your own helmet with face shield or eye protection you are more than welcome to use it.
What else does Kart 2 Kart offer?
In addition to the karting experience, we offer full bar service and café overlooking the pits and race track. Our facility also has a private meeting room, which can seat up to 200 people.
Can I bring my own food?
Beyond the snack bar services in the cafe, we can arrange a full service catering program for you. If you want your own catering company to handle the event, there is a small fee owed to K2K and all food brought in must be approved by management prior to arrival. All drinks must be purchased from Kart 2 Kart.
